Meeting the Needs of The Community

Since we opened our first community home, we have provided a wide variety of special needs populations with affordable and specialized housing. Demographics served include but are not limited to: disabled, veterans, seniors, marriage transition, transitional housing, re-entry, low income, and other special needs populations. Our properties and services are of the highest caliber in our state and local area due to our commitment to safe, affordable all- inclusive living environments.

Our Community Housing Department works in the rental industry to increase housing options for people experiencing homelessness. EHS develops and manages incentives and resources to create meaningful partnerships with rental properties across the city. The team works closely with homeless service providers and connects them with rental units so their clients can exit homelessness.

Our Community Housing team also works closely with the Housing Authorities of the City of Austin and Travis County as well as HUD multi-family owners and agents to create and manage homeless preferences, allowing households streamlined access to mobile subsidies and subsidized units.

EHS Community Housing team is working closely with City leadership and affordable housing developers after the passage of a $250 million affordable housing bond in 2018. Our goal is to ensure that households exiting homelessness have access to affordable housing.
